Great for cranks

It's not a very high performing material but it works great for the cheap bike I mounted it on. The old ones were so worn that the chain slipped. Should have bought her miles ago. We also replaced the bottom bracket with a sealed bottom bracket which was also a great investment.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • I won't say anything

plug and play Looks good. Lightweight aluminum alloy.

Good crankset for a small price. Kit replacement on a 1980's Trek 7300 Hybrid. I didn't want to pay more for a new crank than for an old bike. plug and play Looks good. Lightweight aluminum alloy. The only mistake I made was accidentally ordering from a Chinese supplier. The delivery of the connecting rods took 6 weeks.

  • Comfortable

May not fit your switch if upgrading

I didn't plan as well as I should have before deciding to make the switch. I was upgrading an old worn out crankset and decided to upgrade from 32T to 48T. Well I have a huge increase in top speed but it turns out I need a different shifter if I want to be able to change gears. No problem, I just leave it in top gear all the time and tune it with seven gears in the back, but definitely something to plan for you to update like me.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not automatic

Inexpensive upgrade for cheap bikes

I've been looking for a replacement for the steel cranks on my Kent department store bike for a while. After installing the UN55 bottom bracket, the M131/311 fitted perfectly. I had to readjust the derailleur to make it work, but definitely saved some weight. The M311 weighs 1097 grams without pedals. The difference between the M311 and the steel crank from the department store is about 0.8 kilos. Installation was painless and I recommend having a torque wrench handy. Overall: 5/5 stars, cheap…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Useless features

Gave me a slightly lower low gear.

This is exactly what I needed. My previous set of cranks was 30-39-50. That's two teeth fewer on the small sprocket and it was enough for the ultra low gear to help a lot in my area with my tadpole trike and a Nuvinci 330 rear hub for mountain climbing. I have a 20 tooth sprocket on the hub, and I installed the rear derailleur as a chain tensioner to take up play in the crank gears. My overall gear range is 567% or 14.4 to 81.6 inches. I would love to be able to afford a Roholoff concentrator…

Quality, smooth running, light and high torque

That's exactly what I was hoping for when it came to the upgrade. It's not as light as high-end parts, but it's definitely on the high-end spectrum because it's a true mountain bike crankset. I added it to a cheap bike as an upgrade to a bike that already had a Shimano Tourney bike that I ride as a hybrid/commuter bike. It replaced the three-piece steel connecting rod. I immediately felt the difference as soon as I lifted the bike. And it drives MUCH better. Shifting is much better and…

The M310 derailleur in particular was very easy to align with this crankset

I completely rebuilt a 90's Miyata frame that had no indexed shifting, a glued bottom bracket and worn sprockets and now it is it's a city bike with new Altus parts. The M310 derailleur in particular was very easy to align with this crank while my old one was impossible to adjust. Here's my list: Altus 28x38x48t 7/8spd 170mm shrouded square Shimano BB-UN26 BB cartridge, JIS - 68x123mm Shimano FD-M310 Aultus front derailleur (28.6-34.9mm, 3x7/8 speed, low clamp) Shimano Acera SL -M310 Rapid Fire

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • weak
