So useful computers and accessories

This RSHTECH Toolless Aluminum M.2 NVME NGFF SSD Enclosure Adapter is a fairly nondescript little aluminum box, but there's a lot of utility in that little box. I had an M.2 drive that came with a gaming laptop that I bought over Christmas 2019 and started showing bad sectors and I was also unable to get into Windows because the OS was on that drive was installed. Good but much larger than expected

Works on both Windows and Linux, no external drivers required, haven't tested but seems fast enough. The case is easy enough to open but not too flimsy to open unintentionally, the metal case is a good thickness, aluminum I'm guessing. Thing is, it's huge, I'm guessing it can hold about 4 M2 drives, although I suspect it helps with cushioning. It didn't matter to me as I needed it mostly for data transfer and backup, so it didn't bother me too much.

Works perfectly! in Computers and Accessories

I used this device to clone an SK Hynix SSD in my laptop. I put 1TB in this USB stick and ran the cloning software. Then I swapped two memory chips. It's easy to make, and the RSHTech USB case also comes with a screw to attach the shorter 256GB chip. I used the included USB-C to USB-C cable to connect to my laptop. Very fast transmission speed. I would recommend.

Not suitable for physically large/thick drives

I have a Sabrent 4TB m.2 NVME PCIe 3.0 drive that I purchased this enclosure for. A 4TB drive is expensive and a bit thicker than most NVME drives because it has multi-layered NAND on both sides to achieve that amount of storage. Pros: I was able to use the adapter without fully installing m. 2. Cons: I couldn't mount my m.2 drive because the NAND flash on the back raised the profile of the drive and prevented the plastic retaining clip from snapping into place.
