What a well made piece. I was fed up with the OEM being so poorly designed. BE VERY CAREFUL not to leave any part of the old adapter in the engine. Looking inside, I saw that the broken piece was a sealing washer. The first photo shows the removed fragment. Also, do not cut off the old tape/tape. The plastic flange folds over, allowing the strap to be removed.

The screw holes on the part I received were a millimeter or two smaller on my N54. I used a stepped bit to open the holes two sizes and it helped with the installation. Also, the hole fit was perfect thanks to the included O-ring. I also cut off the hose clamp because it was way too long. This should still be an improvement as the plastic flanges tend to crack.

Easy to install, good fit. The included O-ring went flat and hard within 6 months. The groove that the o-ring sits in is too wide and if the o-ring is squeezed to fill the groove it will lose its seal. I ended up buying the fitting from an "extremely amazing" supplier and the groove was smaller, the o-ring sat tight on the groove and lasted 3 years on my other car. I thought they were all the same fakes but turns out they weren't.

This aluminum fitting is much better than the BMW fitting it replaced. If you stumble across it before it breaks (and it will sooner or later), replace it. I didn't know about this part until it was "unleashed" on the freeway. If I knew about it, I could change it to the Autobahn after the engine cools down. It was the waist where I again blamed myself for ordering a similar part from an unknown supplier from a source you know where those parts were made. Okay I've only been working on BMWs since 1987 so I've seen a few. My wife has an 07 525i and of course the plastic fitting broke off.
