I guess I have to keep using my super old slow CF card reader because it messed up the CF card when it was first installed. I put the CF card back in the camera, formatted it, took some photos, put it back in the reader and it all happened again. Tried a third time, same result. I've had other card readers for many years but I really like this one. It seems easy to check, but it feels very solid, works seamlessly with my Windows 10 desktop and laptop, and is just the right size. I also love the fact that you can read micro SD cards without using a micro SD to SD converter card. Good value for money. IMHO a good product.

I needed a longer cable because I needed to use the USB port on the back of my computer. The only negative is that the thing doesn't have a grippy surface. I have to hold it to insert the SD card. So I glued a small square of steering wheel tape to it.

Two of my 3D printers use Micro SD cards and one uses Mini. I upload files to SD cards all the time and the adapters I had were too small to keep track of and difficult to use. It stands beautifully on my desk and is always ready to use. Also, the Safely Remove Hardware tool doesn't show up at all, so I can insert and remove cards without bothering. Good price and so far reliable product.

So I have a new 2018 Mac Mini. But the way I set it up doesn't work. I have to get up and walk over to turn it on. As a photographer, I use the SD card slot on a Type-C hub. To make a long story short, I put double-sided tape right under the table next to me and routed the cable to the Mac Mini. Now I can just insert the card and it works fine.
