Good but not great

It does the job well but has a few drawbacks. The most significant of them is that the bit is slightly crooked (it wobbles). It's not a huge amount, but enough to cause problems. Luckily I only needed it to drill through the shifter studs so imperfection is acceptable. You can also adjust the length of the bit so it doesn't stick out as much, which will help solve the problem somewhat. Another problem is that it leaves a small footprint. Nice tool! Suitable for both machine and hand tools

Like all my other Amana tools (mainly router bits and die heads) this tool is of high professional quality. I was looking for something that could simultaneously make through holes and indentations in ip (extremely hard wood) while maintaining a constant depth. This beautiful tool does a great job, the through hole drill bit is solid carbide. You have to choose the right speed for your drill (I don't drill hands-free), but other than that it's easy to use. This is a very smart tool that performs important functions.

This is a very smart tool that does an important job very well. Although I bought the 3/16" size, I use it to countersink plywood for 1/4" mounting screws. After that, I have to enlarge the hole to fit the 1/4" screw, but the countersink is perfect every time. The benefit of a smaller initial hole size is that any crack in the veneer will likely be covered by the diameter of the countersink.
