It's hard to find a flush bit this small and I had high hopes for it but I made 4 short (4 inch) plunge cuts with it bit at 1 / 2 inches through the walnut. Midway through the first cut the drill bit broke in stock, ordered a replacement and for a replacement, midway through the 2nd pass (third total for the project) one of the cutting faces broke midway. There are many bad reviews complaining about this bit breaking. Where the bearing is, the diameter is only about 1/8th because the bearing needs to be flush with the cutting edge. Worked great for a few days until the drill bit halved at the ball bearing point (weak point of the drill bit) when making a flat cut (approx. 1/4 inch ) from African redwood. I was expecting better quality at this price point and was very disappointed with the product, it should have been good in relatively soft woods like mahogany and I'm glad I found this issue before I tried it on harder woods like maple or tried oak.
