I am a woman and I bought these shorts because I was looking for sports shorts with nice pockets! They had an inseam that I liked and the pockets looked good because men, unlike women, deserve to have pockets. Only wearing pair for the 2nd time, he already had a huge hole in his pocket due to a seam tear. It's useless to me as he can't even hold my headphones to keep them from falling out. I really wanted shorts with pockets!

Update March 2021: I have 6 pairs of these shorts and have been waiting to back order a few more as they were mostly out of stock at the end of 2020. I recently got a new pair and the material seems different from the previous 6 pairs I have. I showed my wife the old pair versus the new pair and she immediately named the new pair because they looked so cheap.
