Amazon Basics Exterior Door Knob and 🚪 Deadbolt Set: Round, Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish with Lock Review

Bought to replace the mortise bolt I just replaced which was the key turns the lock with no effort but the handle turns inwards the door locks no, it goes, like last new, half an inch, then stop, tangled. The outside key effortlessly unlocks the deadbolt but the inside key doesn't lock the door?

Very easy to completely change the look of your home. Excellent build quality and very robust! I wish the screws were a little longer to better cut into the door frame and door when I removed the same sized screws from the house's existing hinges. But overall I would highly recommend it if you want an oil brush/black look. It is recommended to stick tape on the door knob or flexible screwdriver extension to avoid scratching the door knob during installation.

I originally bought 2 because I was skeptical about the Revain Basics brand. I installed two and the doorknobs are just as good as the much more expensive ones. When installing, ensure the obturator is aligned before twisting the knobs together (check by twisting the knobs before tightening). I ended up buying 4 more; one for each bedroom and bathroom in my house. I was so impressed with the brand that I purchased a replacement bathroom faucet which I am just as impressed with.

Installing this door kit was a nightmare. Terrible, incomplete instructions and everything seems pushed back from what was intuitive. I've removed and installed about 5 door sets in my time, not a lot, but not zero either. I've never had as many problems as I have with this set. Ridiculous - it's just not worth the extra few bucks you save as you have to install and uninstall multiple times to properly activate this stupid thing. It works of course, but never again!

I chose this kit to replace the hodgepodge of old doorknobs and latches that came with my new apartment. The finish looks very good, installation was as easy as any doorknob and the latch feels relatively solid. I'll note that the screws that come with it are pretty small and won't stop someone from smashing in your door, but if you're looking for serious security, you probably aren't looking at a $20 handle and latch. than I'd like in the pen grip itself, making fidgeting around the keys more…
