Description of Red Silicone Hot Skillet Handle Cover Holder by Amazon Basics

Insulating kitchen accessory protects hands from hot pan handles. High-quality, heat-resistant silicone creates insulating layer of protection; oven safe up to 475 Degrees F/250 Degrees C. Works with a variety of cookware handles ranging from 10.5-13.25 inches long, including most cast iron skillets. DO NOT use holder when coming in contact with open flames, leave the holder on the handle while cooking in the oven, or use with temperatures higher than 250 degrees C/475 degrees F for longer than 1 hour. DO use as a guard to protect your hands from burns, use the anti-slip grip to slide the holder onto a hot handle, and use to transfer hot items to and from the oven. Slides on and off easily and stays securely in place while in use; measures 5.6 inches long x 1.9 inches wide; fits skillets with handles 10.5 inches or larger.

Do not buy😼 good for kitchen and dining room

This handle has two main disadvantages. It's too loose on the cast iron handle to be safe without the use of an oven mitt. More importantly, it went bad after only two or three uses.

Good quality. suitable for kitchen and table linen

I have various cast iron kitchen utensils, most of them from Lodge. I bought a couple of Lodge Hot Handle silicone cases. This was my first AmazonBasics cover. On my cast irons, this is slightly longer and looser than lodge covers. It looks good quality but for a tighter fit we would have preferred the Lodge brand.

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Some little things

Not universal for CI cups.

This is good for my Lodge CI but too big for my Walmart brand. Great quality but may not match your pan. Edit: After a few uses in the last month or two it first started to melt and almost caught fire last night when I was quickly frying an egg! My other silicone stuff can go in the oven, it can't even take the heat of my pan handle.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Poor set

Doesn't work - Oven Pot Holder and Mitts

Just used this on the handle of a Gotham Steel Pan that has been in the oven at 400 degrees. After removing the pan from the oven, I apply silicone to the handle with hot pads. I reached for the silicone to lift the pan, but the heat from the handle was too strong from the silicone for me to grip. The only good thing is to warn me that the pen is hot!

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Nothing Here

Misleading, dangerous description

Of course I'm glad I read the instructions that came with it. The listing description says it is oven safe up to 475F. The instructions that came with it say it is NOT OVEN SAFE at all, only suitable for a medium heat stove. Mostly useless, and I wouldn't be surprised if Revane files a lawsuit or two in court. Also, as mentioned by other negative reviews, it's flimsy and flimsy. A folded kitchen towel offers more protection.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Crumpled

mmm no on oven mitts and oven mitts

The product looks good and feels good in your hand until you put it on the pan Put it on an iron pan when it's hot, you can feel it with your hand and move it too so I have to wrap my pan in wool and then put it on top of it because it just spins and moves, it's too big for my frying pan and I bought the one that fits my frying pan so I'll never use it Will buy again for one of my other skillets and might as well just throw them away as I'm not very happy with them

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Reliability

STAY AWAY! for kitchen and dining room

It's just terrible. I bought these to replace the Lodge's handle cover. Save your money! They offer little protection from heat and the rim next to the flame gets so hot that its physical properties change. It got sticky like putty, after 24 hours I can still pinch the rim between my fingers and reshape it or tear off a piece of the rim. SAVE YOUR MONEY, they are useless for the application they are intended for. The first basic Revain product I bought, but it wasn't as good or better than the…

It will not fit the Victoria brand cast iron 12 " skillet handle.

I believe that Victoria makes a wider grip, now I have a feeling that somewhere in the description it says that I do not feel that this is a problem with this silicone grip because I think the silicone is just a little stretch or just fit I'm sure I'm old, 69 but he couldn't stretch past the handle. So I asked for a refund - a refund. I suspect if I were to buy a Revain brand cast iron skillet this silicone handle would fit nicely. I'm really disappointed as I thought this silicone hand lid…

It's awesome if you use it right, if you use it wrong, not so much.

I've been using them for years and the fabric ones for decades. And I have to laugh at the many bad reviews about this device. It is clear that users abuse the product and then give bad reviews. So let's start with some basics. #1. The silicone handles are designed to be used with oven mitts. NOT an integral part of the handle. Move it, move the pan, move it. If you leave it IN the pan, especially in the oven, it will get hot and probably melt a bit. Just do not. #2. Silicone grip covers REDUCE
