update - after 18 months of use the coating on the edge seam came off as the dogs jumped (their nails grabbed them and ripped them off), and one of the Inserts detached causing it to rest against the back of the seat. Now I have to hold it up so they don't jump right on my seats. I have two 60+ year old dogs who ride in my truck about 6 times a week so I think 18 months of this abuse is pretty good.
