🔒 Amika Vault Color-Lock Shampoo Review

I switched to Amika from Pureology. It's a lot cheaper and really makes my color last longer. I can go 8-9 weeks between coloring where I should have done it in 6 or 7 before using.

This is great! The hair is straight, thick, just below the shoulders. I paint from dark brown to black with red accents. I have silver which is very stain resistant meaning paint won't stick to it. It looks good at first, but within 3-4 days the silver skunk band returns and within a week the rest of the color fades. I really wanted to love this shampoo but it really dries my hair! It smells so good but I had bleached + tinted hair and every time I use it my hair gets tangled. It also doesn't foam, so it was very difficult for me to work with. My toner hasn't faded and I really want that to work!

I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for half a year now. Normally with other shampoos and conditioners I used to have to switch products for frizzy hair because my hair felt soft or weighed down. With this shampoo and conditioner my hair is clean and silky frizz free and after a few days my hair is still not greasy at the roots. Received a sample of the Smoothing Shampoo/Cream Conditioner and loved it. Despite the high price, I went for the full version of this brand, but chose the shampoo/cream conditioner for colored hair. I haven't had much success. My problem is bad fluffiness. This shampoo and creamy conditioner made my hair very greasy on the scalp and left some frizz on the bottom end, I haven't had this problem with straightening products. I found Amica through a woman who colored my hair a few months ago and decided to try it at home after using it in the salon. My hair is softer and shinier. The shampoo smells very pleasant, not overpowering or harsh. I also noticed that the color in my hair faded more slowly than when using other brands of shampoos and conditioners designed for color-treated hair. I would definitely recommend this in the future.

I love the smell of this shampoo. It's expensive for the size and it lasts a little longer than regular shampoos. But then again, this is the scent for me. I love Amica products.

I was skeptical that this particular bottle didn't have a security seal or seal like all Amika hair products. I bought in July and the product seemed good until today. Now I'm at the bottom of the bottle and the product has completely changed the texture and smell. It's as if the product has been mixed with another to "seal" it. I will only buy again with the original security seal.
