Works well but is holding some of your data hostage

Okay first let me say that I'm a certified security professional so this review is a warning to those concerned about their online security and personal make data. Cons: 1. You cannot access logs of what is happening on your Wi-Fi network. You cannot see if someone is trying to attack your system or if you have a misconfigured device that is causing problems. Logs can only be viewed by the company's development team and refuse to decrypt and send them back to the customer. You can answer kind…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • No

My cable goes to the house in the basement. Our ground floor is decorated with concrete, also above the basement. The concrete floor makes it impossible to run an Ethernet cable from the basement to the first floor. I chose a wireless mesh system. My first candidates were Orbi and Velop. What I initially didn't like about the Amplifi system was that the remote WiFi plug-ins didn't have Ethernet jacks. Then I read that you can use an Amplifi router as a mesh point with 4 ethernet ports. So I…

Pros
  • So far everything seems to be
Cons
  • Some errors

I am very impressed and frankly amazed at the thoughtful design and execution of this system. We've burned routers in the past and I've tried pretty much every brand. Not only does this item feature mesh technology, it's also the first to have no boxes scattered everywhere. Instead, it uses these grid dots that you just stick into the wall, so you don't have to wall mount them or put them on a shelf. We all have electrical outlets in our homes or offices. For this reason, setting the vertices…

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Sad hardware

I was very excited to hear that Ubiquiti launched a consumer mesh system a few months ago, so of course I was one of the first to pre-order. While waiting to get my system I also bought a Netgear Orbi system and here's what I think. Netgear Orbi: A great overall system and clear winner in terms of LAN (internal) throughput. The speed I got while sitting next to the satellite unit was almost the same as sitting next to the main unit. This is of course due to the dedicated 5GHz band for backhaul.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Clarity

piece of unnecessary system and bad customer support. worked fine It's easy to set up and "works" to the max. And then you screwed it up. My router seemed great. Until it stopped transmitting more than a few meters, shortly after the one-year warranty expired, of course. Support could just say fuck you, your warranty is (barely) expired. Instead, they put me through the RMA dog and pony show only to end up saying fuck you, your warranty has expired. Of course, that was the very first thing I…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Was damaged

it was terrible at best. So far we have 120-150 Mbit/s in .

I live in a 120 year old house made out of plaster, laths, bricks and so much wire and nails it's basically a Faraday cage. More specifically, her series. Standard wireless routers just weren't very good at penetrating walls, and even with bridging routers to extend the Wi-Fi signal, it was terrible at best. While we got 120-150 Mbps in the room with the main WiFi router, after two rooms we were lucky enough to get an average of 9-10 Mbps, if we were very lucky then 20. The network speed below…

  • I look forward to
