I generally liked the design which made it easy to solder the coax cable to the PL259. The silver finish is nice. The workmanship was of high quality, including knurling. I will buy them again.

You can spend a lot or a little on PL259 connectors. Basically, you get improved solderability. The metal used and the coatings applied improve solder adhesion, and the insulating material separating tip and body withstands high solder temperatures without warping. I have bought several RF connectors over the years. This quality is made with reasonable coverage. Comes with paper wrapped over the connector to protect the finish. It's easy to use and the RG8X coaxial cable fits well. Solder will stick to the end and require a lot of heat if you heat it for too long (won't melt). I replaced the RG58 cable from my 2m radio with a Tandy RG8 (better than the regular RG8). These connections were easy to install. I had to borrow my dad because the cable is pretty thick and I don't have a soldering station. We used a 100W soldering iron; I would recommend that you tin the copper braid before installing the adapter. Most instructions don't tell you this.
