Too Fragile!: Kitchen and Dining Room

Yes, they're inexpensive (I bought 3), but they're ridiculously fragile. I just lightly tapped one of the sides of the fridge shelf and a 1/2 inch hole opened up, water splashed everywhere. I've been using it for about a month. There are only two left. I'm wondering if I can use bubble wrap around them? Buyers be careful.

Broke after two uses.

I've only used this jug twice and it broke. I mixed a bag of Crystal Light iced tea with 2 liters of water and left it on the counter. I stirred with a wooden spoon. Unfortunately a small hole broke about 1 inch from the bottom on the left side and all the tea spilled onto the floor and onto my counter. Needless to say I was not happy with this pitcher.

Newer lids are worse

I bought the exact same pitcher from a thrift store and LOVED that it holds drinks in the glass and fits easily in my fridge. The old hard plastic lid was amazing as all I had to do was twist it sideways to close and then twist again to pour. However, with the new soft rubber cap, you won't be able to pour out any liquid without removing it! While the jug itself is a bit heavy when full, it's still amazing. But the new lid is the reason I gave it four stars.

Perfect if you love broken glass

Traditionally I boil water and pour it into a jug before adding tea bags and chilling to make iced tea. I bought two of these cans. One was broken so I figured it might just be a manufacturing error. But today the second literally exploded. Now I have hot water burns on both legs and forearm. This was after I filled the pitcher with warm tap water, making sure I raised the jar's temperature. In addition, they are a terrible form to clean.

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • High price

The cork in this bottle falls out without being pressed against the neck. I found them at Target and tested them in store and found that the glass bottle neck sizes ranged from inappropriate to snug fitting, and that was the neck size, not the cork. SO ANCHOR, you have a big problem with the quality control of the glass casting process. Is it because it's made in China? Don't produce or sell junk, you're ruining your name with consumers. SHAME! Out of 13 bottles, I only found 2 where the cork…

Disappoints Best in Restaurants and Entertainment

I'm a big fan of Anchor Hocking, I have glass bakeware, mugs and lots of other glassware. I bought these jugs based on their name and I think they must have subcontracted the order. The first clue was that I received one of two broken in transit with minimal damage to the box. I asked for a second one and it was sent quickly. I washed it after it arrived and accidentally touched the glass measuring cup. It broke into 10 pieces. Mason jars are more durable. he is fragile. It's a shame that…

A pitcher of bad luck.

Amazing design; clear fluted jar with cherry red lid. A really nice little jug that fits nicely in the fridge door and holds a small amount of juice. However, the problem lies in the implementation of the project. The lid has one function: to keep air out and thus keep the liquid inside fresh. Therefore, the lid must close when you put it on the jar. But that's not the case. Too small. If you turn the jar upside down, the lid will fall off. It is not possible to leave the lid open when pouring,

Pros
  • Comes with white plug
Cons
  • Available in white only

As humans, we have enjoyed the luxury of a noble vessel for thousands of years. This is a fairly simple device; You pour liquid into it and then pour the same liquid into another container. It's also pretty complete in terms of technology. I mean, really, what's left to improve? Unless you are the anchor. In this case, you have successfully undone all of humanity's advances in the creation of the glass. Liquids should flow out of the jug, not overflow like with the bistro glass jug. It's as if…
