Not a direct replacement for Apple's USB-C to Lightning cable

This is not a very good cable and is not a direct replacement for Apple's original USB-C to Lightning cable. Here's what happens in my testing: When my iPhone XS is at 44%, my Apple USB-C to Lightning cable charges my iPhone XS from 44% to 84% in about 25 minutes or less. After my phone reaches 84%, the iPhone XS starts charging slowly until it reaches 100%. This test was conducted using an Apple 87W USB-C charger. When I use this Anker USB-C cable and my iPhone is at 44%, it charges to 66% in…

Works well, seems to handle USB-PD well, see voltages

Cable material quality seems good, definitely thicker than equivalent USB-A Lightning cables but still quite flexible. Certainly much more durable than any Apple cable I've used in the past. I tested it with 3 USB PD chargers: - Aukey 18W charger: 12V charging, charger supports 5V/9V/12V - Anker USB-C Hub PD connector: 15- V Charge, Charger Support 5V/9V/15V USB-C Charger for Macbook 61W: Charged at 9V, Charger Support 5.2V/9V/20.3V Charging is via USB -C Charger PD that supports 15V charging…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some flaws

Using this USB-C to Lightning Cable with Anker USB-C PD Car Charger, it works great with my iPhone XR! When the battery is less than 80%, my iPhone XR beeps as usual, followed by a second beep confirming the PD is fast charging. Folks, regarding iPhone fast charging double beep/chime, the time interval between 1st and 2nd beep/chime is 56 seconds. So don't worry if you don't hear a fast ding-ding. It will be "ding --------------------- thing". :o) I haven't had a chance to fully test "50% in 30

Fantastic work with PD Fast charging and great build quality

I've used it with the iCllevef 30w PD charger and it works fantastic! Charges my iPhone X very quickly! For older iPhones (like 6s) the maximum I've seen is 7 watts. The cable is very thick and strong, but too short. I'm not deducting a star for that as this is what this article is for, but I really hope the 6ft version comes out soon. I've been buying Anker 6ft cable for about a year now and I really like this size. I asked their support team and they have no idea when the 6ft version will be…

Great for PD fast charge, terrible for data

After experimenting with Apple and Anker's USB-C cable, I can say that this is indeed the first third-party cable to feature USB-C -Fast charge used. Powered by a 30W adapter (also made by Anker), my iPhone X fully charges in about 60 minutes. However, not everything is so great. One issue I had was data over USB-C when trying to use the cable to update and transfer files to my Surface Book 2. I had several errors updating my phone, backing up, restoring or moving files. One day an update…

Anchor cables are getting bulkier and stiffer

I bought this cable because some people said it was flexible. I guess it's a relative term because I have others that are even worse than this one, but it's not a "flexible" cable in my opinion. If you look at the image on the product page, it looks like it has a solid aluminum screen. "I don't know why it might be a good idea for anything other than HF in the gigahertz range. The torsional flexibility is just terrible. Unless obvious to anchors, the visor should serve or be braided for…
