Excellent mobile (3-band) antenna.

I use this antenna for 2 meter and 70 cm work.Ham radio mobile work. I used it with a 50w cellphone and a handie talkie (5w max). I always get great signal messages. The base of the NMO allows me to easily remove it from the car when not needed, but it allows me to drive at high speeds (80 mph plus on the freeway) with no issues.

  • Great price

Great antenna in radio antennas

Can receive all local repeaters and Catalina Island from 60 miles inland. The spring loaded antenna allows you to bend the antenna before entering the garage. A few times I forgot to take it off, knocked it off the truck and crashed into the garage. No damage and still works. The antenna is designed for heavy loads and will not bend at highway speeds. The Simplex also works great with this antenna.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Requires outlet

I had no problems

After using it continuously as a magnetic antenna for the TH-F6A, I had no problems. SWR tests have shown it doesn't need tuning on any of the three bands it broadcasts on, and it works great for analog scanning too. However, it will NOT hear HF or HF. It's just a "2m or higher" antenna and that's what it excels at. My best contact was 40 miles, simplex, only five watts on VHF from my pocket computer with this antenna.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Not the best performance

I think I have to give this whip a low rating due to its high SWR. About 3k1 for high frequencies in the two meter range. 1.25 meters and 70 cm were not bad. But most of the time I use it on the 2m band so I was quite disappointed with its performance. I will use my old dual band antenna for 2m and 70cm and then switch to 1.25m if I want. Use 220 frequencies instead of using that tri-band pin.

Pros
  • quality construction
Cons
  • unreliable

SWR requirements do not correspond to reality!

This is the second Anli 124 I own. The first existed for many years and was unshakable. He finally died in me. Decided to replace with the same antenna. Makes sense right? Should the second one be the same as the old one? Not correct. My original was all black, this new one was chrome. When it arrived it was too damn cold to put the SWR outside. I've spent the last 2 hours getting the SWR below 2:1 at 146.50. No matter how I set it, it never goes below 2:1 and is worse at both ends of the 2m…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not trendy

NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT FOR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

I ordered this product and as a new ham I don't have an SWR meter. A friend measured the antenna with a meter as it never worked very well to hit 2m/70cm repeaters. He found that the main coil had an open (open circuit) and the antenna was NOT USED. I inquired about the return/exchange policy as it's been some time since I bought it and was able to install it on my mobile device. Advanced Specialties Inc. I never replied to my email so I'm giving them the 1 star they deserve. I bought a new…

Very good on 70cm and 1.25m Sufficient for VHF

I wanted something for mobile use with my Kenwood TH-F6A tri band radio so I gave it a try. It showed perfect SWR on the 440MHz band (70cm), although not in the 432 part, out of the box. I was able to reach UHF repeaters further away than with a 1/4 wave pin and with a slightly better signal. better than 1/4 shaft pin. However, two meters (144 MHz) were not so good. The SWR was acceptable at 1.3 but there was no difference in signal or range reporting compared to the 1/4 wave pen. * Groups. I…
