A perfect match for the Sundolphin Aruba 10

This is the correct depth for the perfect fit of the Aruba 10' Sundolphin. Not too deep and not too shallow for your rods to fall out. I have been modifying my yaks and they have helped me get there with a couple of rods with different lures/baits already prepared and switching was a breeze. The best value I could find. Waterproof cases are also a plus!

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Easy to install Best for kayaking

Very easy to install on some of the inexpensive Pelikan Yaks. It took me 5 minutes each time. I used the screws provided and they seem very strong! Haven't had a chance to use them on the water yet but put my rod in and they fit perfectly. You will need a hole saw/dremel, a small pilot hole drill bit for the screws. , and a Phillips screwdriver. That's all. Pretty great product.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • No automatic installation

Very impressive. for water sports

Perfect and easy to install. With my assistant (my 16 year old son) we knocked out this rig in about 20 minutes using a hole saw, drill bit and flex gasket. Very impressed with the quality of the rod holders and you can't beat the price under $10. Make sure you follow some Utube tips from successful installs if you're doing it yourself and have no idea. Easy and rod holders are strong and big enough for most rods.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Fits but not all bars

It was easy to install and the price was great. The lid opens and closes normally, but could be a bit lighter. This usually works fine. My only issue is that it works well on spinning rods, but it doesn't seem to work well on spinning rods. The button on the rod continues to press on the edge of the rod mount and releases the line on its own. Still good for other rod types and the price was great. I love the hidden mount and would probably buy it again if I needed more.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

Top valve won't stay on

Bought these to add to my kayak. Holes drilled and installed well. The upper flap does not stay in the body, which is a real pain. I had to look for a better version that includes some of the best mounting options for the bottom of the kayak to create a stronger mount. Also, I have found that some other manufacturers offer the option of tying the rod to this rod holder with an additional line. Again. I should have done more research to see what's in there before I bought it.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Great for $. 1 installed on Pungo. I present 1 Pamlico

Installed in sunroof. Just hold it where you want and place the bar in it so you can see how the bar will point. I didn't do this and set it up with the pole pointing over the water. I decided it was best to look straight up. So I re-drilled and re-installed. I covered the holes with transparent silicone and the base covered my mistake. Used a dremel with a grinder to extend my hole after drilling with a hole saw (think 1 3/4 inch), bought stainless steel bolts/washers/nuts. But after…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Has been damaged

Installation was an issue on the kayak.

Pretty tricky setup at the front of the kayak. The hole must be drilled at a high angle, creating a large egg-shaped hole nearly 2 inches in diameter. Then I discovered that the frame cuts deep into the legroom and is an obstacle to your legs. I had to change the direction of the angle at the last minute to avoid a near-disaster with a huge hole in my new kayak and no rod holder due to the restrictions it caused below. The product is well made but not ideal for my application. Installation…
