From a distance this looks like a cool steampunk bottle opener. Up close it is roughly cast and roughly machined. You can actually use it to open wine bottles, but the bottom wheel (which pulls the screw out) is VERY difficult to turn. The solution is to turn the top wheel (the one that lowers the corkscrew) all the way down - this will rotate the cork a bit to loosen it, but also the tip of the screw past the bottom of the cork and into yours Squeeze wine bottle about half an inch. Unfortunately not recommended Maybe I'm just too handy for this part. It's a beautiful, unique steampunk look, but lacks functionality. It's more difficult to use than the one where you press levers to push the cork out. It takes up much more space in the drawer because the screw protrudes on one side. I'm in the process of converting a cabinet to use as a bar cabinet, in a modern steampunk style. When I saw it I thought it would be perfect - and it will be, but unfortunately only as a decoration. Although this corkscrew looks really cool, it is very difficult to use. It's not possible to get enough leverage to pull the cork out, so it ends up taking a lot more effort than necessary. While this is a cool decoration, I don't recommend it for opening wine bottles.

Pros: Such a nice corkscrew. I would like to keep it as functional decor for my next party. I really like the vintage finish. I like this style of corkscrew because it's very easy to use and practically reliable. I've never mastered the typical corkscrew style, but I like this one because even a clumsy one like me can pull the cork out of a wine bottle flawlessly every time. Many years ago I had a wooden corkscrew similar to this one in design and it was so easy to use but it's long gone so I was so happy to find this metal corkscrew which is much stronger than my old wooden corkscrew. I don't think this is a terrible product, I just think it is an average or slightly below average product. That's about C with a minus at best. It looks good and the finish on the outside looks clean and well made, but that's about all it does on its own. If you hold the corkscrew and try to turn the handle to insert the screw, the machine will wobble back and forth. The screw itself is pretty flimsy and doesn't make the job any easier.
