1999 4Runner SR5 AV Accessory

Perfect fit for my 1999 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD. For installation I unscrewed the gold ring from my old, broken active antenna. I used pliers to pull out the rest of the broken antenna. The new conversion kit fits perfectly in the place of the old broken antenna. The antenna included in the kit is screwed into the intercom kit, done. I still need to disconnect the antenna motor with the old power supply so that it doesn't try to retract for 5-10 seconds after the radio is turned off, but this is

Pros

Worked great and great price

Worked perfectly for my sons 2001 Toyota 4Runner. I drove it and decided to wash it and forgot to attach the antenna (I'm not used to that) and bent and broke it. Went to a Toyota dealership and it was supposed to cost me $118 plus tax and I freaked out when I ordered it online on Saturday and it was delivered Monday! HOORAY ! I didn't want to do anything wrong so he took it to our sound specialist and he put it on in 5 minutes! Thank God ! I'm always skeptical when it comes to ordering car…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Worked great on a 2002 Toyota 4Runner

I have successfully installed this on my 2002 Toyota 4Runner Limited. Installation was difficult as part of the old antenna was corroded and stuck in a tube attached to the engine. I ended up disassembling the motor and tube and using a long drill bit, knocked out a rusted piece of antenna. After cleaning the pipe and reinstalling the motor on the car, I connected the antenna mast from the top and it worked great. I made sure to coat the antenna with silicone grease when fully extended to…

Pros
  • GOLS Certificate
Cons
  • Something else

Direct replacement for the Toyo OEM antenna on my 98th 4runner. If your antenna is broken, you need this. These Toyota antennas tend to break in two ways. If the metal pole breaks, you can simply remove the chrome nut, pull out the reminder, and put a new replacement in it. Takes about 10 minutes. If the plastic "gear" breaks and part of it is still in this thing, things get a little more complicated. You'll need some basic automotive tools, some lube, and an hour or two to pull, disassemble…

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Frequency

Bought this for my 3rd gen 4runner and it fits perfectly

I recently bought a 1999 4runner Limited and did what many have done before. The machine immediately washed away this dirt. I covered the port with some plastic while waiting for this to arrive. Said Thursday, received Monday. Excellent delivery and response from the company. I had a 14 inch flexible rubber antenna waiting to be attached. I'll keep the short antenna if I bust my 14" on the trail. Great buy, a bit pricey but worth it if you're looking for a no quirk 5 minute setup, time is money

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Gotchas
