I installed a digital antenna in the attic and needed a splitter to send the signal to multiple rooms. It was exactly what I needed. The device is reportedly getting warm, but I've had it on for a few days and it's a little warm. If you have connections to anything other than the red-fed port, the signal will be split and sent down the line. The port requires the device to be connected. If it is not connected, no signal is transmitted on this line. I used this line for a cable that went into 3…

Got HOT fast; made in china, powered by coaxial cable

This product is powered by coaxial cable. It is made in China. It is not UL approved. It's metal, but the back appears to be sealed with PVA glue or sealant. It heats up VERY quickly - within minutes. I'm afraid it will overheat and start a fire. It didn't seem to amplify the ONE outgoing cable I plugged in. He will be returned.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Great product for audio and video accessories

Let's get started I recently decided to shorten my cable. I installed a brand new antenna which gets about 12 channels, on a good day it gets 13 with juice added, now I get 39 channels, yes some channels I don't need but the ones that barely get it come out big now. This won't fix everything if you're not receiving channels, but it can help if you have a decent signal to start with. I'm using this on a rooftop antenna and it's been great so far. I'm about 56 miles from the station tower. Update

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Reliability

LONG DISTANCE BRIDGE

I live in North Florida, halfway between Tallahassee and Jacksonville, Florida. We can't get a ground wire where I live. I'm trying to cut TV costs, so I installed a 33-foot outdoor antenna. I used RG11 coax cable, an antenna preamp (ClearStream 4V antenna) and this 4-port distribution amplifier for three TVs and a radio. Results. I can catch 17 stations. (And that's with no antenna rotation at all. It only points south.) Some of the stations include MeTV, Charge, COMET, ME11, ABC, CBS, NBC, 3…

  • Decent job

Why spend money on it?

I live between Austin and San Antonio. I bought a ClearStream 2V from Revain with no price check and paid $10 more than I should have and it works well passively, mounted about 15 feet off the ground in a good spot outdoors. Passively, with one of my test HDTVs plugged directly into a 60 foot [coax] cable, I got good reception on all major networks, with the PBS group being the weakest. Passively, however, he looked normal. I set up the antenna correctly using a good compass. If I use the CDA4…
