Ideal for school for PPE

I use this model every day at work. This includes Tig, Moment and Stick. Very cheap purchase at $25. I have bought hoods for $225 and only see one difference. sticker man. The only drawback are the mounting screws. They drop out from time to time. This is typical of most cooker hoods. Ideal for school, hobbies or everyday use in the shop.

Garbage. Better Guaranteed or Miller

Don't do it. I did it for the big screen and at the time I was a young student and couldn't afford the more expensive ones but please don't buy this. After two years I can no longer use it because it does not charge and the battery cannot be replaced. And it turns itself off while welding, no matter how well charged it is after a few months.

Pros
  • Very Good Value
Cons
  • Modern

I make it easier on myself when I can

I take welding lessons. One of the requirements was to bring a "hood" for use during training. There are ten students in the class, each with their own helmet. Some of the helmets are in the $200 price range. Of course they're painted and gloss enamelled, but they do the same thing as the helmet I bought for 25% of their price. In fact, in many cases my helmet is lighter than more expensive ones. When the helmet is removed and the welding started, all the beautiful patterns on more expensive…

Pros
  • Headgear
Cons
  • Some mistakes

When shopping for welding equipment, I initially chose a helmet from my own brand. I'm a novice welder with some experience but not often enough to get good at it. I thought my skills weren't as good as I remembered because the consistency of the weld quality was poor and frustrating me. I realized that if I could see better while welding, maybe I could improve my game. I did some research and decided on the Antra brand. Far from the most expensive, but still highly rated. I thought why not try

Less weight than heavy helmets but works well enough.

I'm a keen observer but also a novice welder. So I'm not an expert. I started learning to weld at the school store about eight weeks ago and played an hour or two a few times a week, mostly with a welding machine. I've been using this helmet for about four weeks. Any comparisons I make are to old-school gear, ie, solid-tint Jackson helmets. While I certainly don't need or deserve a fancy auto-dimming helmet, my exercise (game) consists of scraps I collect, some of which are old snow chains…

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other pickaxes
