In the past I have used hand held sprayers that pump paint. I really like this pistol. It is very easy to use and easy to clean. You can soak the parts in a solution of mild soap and water. I sprayed my car with Rustoleum and soaked the parts in water with some Awesome, which I always use to clean latex. I applied 2 coats and further thinned the second coat.
