I got ready, pulled the remains of the old rope from the scratching post, opened the rope bag...... and closed my mouth. All those reviews that say it smells like kerosene are completely true. It's brown, not beige. I wouldn't let my cat touch that. Not that I could imagine her doing it voluntarily. Seriously, just go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get some. Don't buy this.

Better quality rope than I expected for the price but has a distinct chemical smell. I know these ropes are sometimes coated to preserve them, and while I don't plan on my cats eating them, I leave them in the sink, scrub them down with dish soap, and give them a good rinse a couple of times to fix this make sure you are safe. so they break. It also came neatly, not tangled.

The cord came neatly folded in a bag. As soon as I opened it up and started to unwind, my cat started rolling around in the sisal. When restoring the scratching post, my cat was thrilled and kept rubbing itself on the string. After I finished my work, my cat spent at least an hour on the freshly covered post. Then he fell asleep on it. The cable coiled up very easily. I can't recommend it highly enough. High quality product!
