AP Products 013 570 Trailer Entrance Review

We have a closed trailer that we take to car shows and wanted to use the trailer as a camper/motorhome when traveling we fitted this lock and now you can from the inside or outside open / close and lock.

Item looks well assembled and easy to install. 3 stars because the plastic manual locking lever inside broke due to poor packaging. I managed to glue the plastic lever together and it looks brand new.

The lock is strong enough for its price. While it's not the lock's fault, I had to relocate the top, left and bottom because I think the previous owner cut the lock hole a little too big. Overall it looks good and secures the door securely as you can expect.

Products AP 013-572 Chrome Trailer Entry Lock Set was very easy to install. As many of you know, most motorhomes and caravans have the same keys, so anyone with a trailer key can get into your trailer. This set is not designed for other trailers so I'm much safer filling it when I'm camping and leaving the trailer loose.

I installed them myself in 10 minutes for each lock using a cordless screwdriver, being careful not to over tighten and removing the screws. Installs 2 pieces, one for each door. I don't have much arm strength so I asked my husband to tighten it with a screwdriver once everything was secured. They offer a door split plate but it is not compatible with our RV. The handle itself is very strong, all metal; Anything is as good as the OEM grip on my fifth Forest River wheel. Installation was a simple task too: just loosen the two screws on the inside of the stock grip, spread it apart and screw on this replacement the same way. It even includes a rubber gasket to eliminate the need for a seal. On the other hand, one of my lock cylinders does not work with the keys that came with it.
