There are many products on the market that claim to run aquariums with 'instantaneous cycles'. In my opinion, there's nothing that works out of the box, but it's close. The first thing to consider is that you need a source of ammonia for this to work. The fish will work, but it's very stressful and some find it cruel. I've run numerous tests with the new quarantine aquarium settings, trying both fish and non-fish cycles with 2-4ppm ammonia. I've tried API Quickstart, Sea-chem Stability, and Tetra "Bacteria Cleanup". Currently uses Quick Start for two tanks, one 10 gallon and one 45 gallon. The product works BUT it must be used correctly (not as stated on the label). Many simply added the recommended dosage along with the conditioner/anti-stress loan and added it to the fish the next day.
