Description of 💡 Apple 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter: Essential Charging Solution for MacBook Pro with Retina Display

The 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Pro stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection. When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel. Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage. This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery. Compatible with Mac Models MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012 - 2015).

Once again the small cable at the connection to the adapter is frayed. I left several old power adapters scattered around my house along with the Magsafe to Magsafe 2 converter to at least prevent my travel adapter from being unpacked and repackaged. But as a normal travel card, this adapter is still enough for 6 months. Difficulties in repairing the design will not arise. Apple promotes its design by arguing that the connector won't bend or break when pulled out of the computer. So why not…

I wouldn't trust my MacBook Pro with anything but Apple products

I purchased this Apple MagSafe 2 power adapter to use with my 2014 MacBook Pro Retina. The plastic casing of my original PSU started peeling off this month (July 2019) which means the original cable lasted 5 years and I use my laptop for several hours every day. I have no doubt that this cable will last the life of my computer. It comes in standard Apple packaging so I can say it's original manufacturer quality. I wouldn't trust my expensive MacBook Pro with third-party power supplies. It has a

I have had many MagSafe chargers over the years of using my MacBook. They're annoying when they start to fray or wear out, but that's not an issue I've encountered shortly after using them. The Magsafe connector gets very hot and after an hour of heating the light inside stopped working. It still charges my computer. It started long before any wear and tear could cause it. The graphic mark on the plug is different from my previous charger. Revain insists this product is genuine but I think they

Check your order carefully upon receipt.

When it comes to Apple chargers, genuine Apple OEM devices really are the only way to go. They are more expensive, but you can always be sure that the quality of the device will be at the highest level. That being said, PLEASE check your order when you receive it to make sure you haven't received a 3rd party counterfeit like I did when anticipating and ordering an OEM unit. It turned out that another customer had cheated the returns system and returned a different manufacturer's charger in a…

This is NOT an Apple adapter - it's a cheap fake!

As the great Robert Heinlein used to say, TANSTAAFL (there are no free meals). I didn't want to pay $80 for an Apple adapter, so I was glad to find these great people who sell "real" Apple adapters for $60. I was a little surprised at how they pull this off (Apple tightly controls the market price of their products), but I wanted to believe it. The adapter arrived working and looked very similar to a genuine Apple OEM adapter. All fine print, certificates etc. were similar to my native adapter.
