This is a much higher flame output than a traditional manual propane torch. Still works great, I just have to be a lot more careful not to burn anything nearby.

This flashlight is exactly what I was looking for. I've soldered brass tools and used cheap torch heads that screw directly onto the gas cylinder. This worked well, except I often had to place the flame in awkward spots, which proved difficult due to the bulky cylinder. This hose extension solved exactly my problem. Highly recommended.

This torch is very handy for soldering small copper tubes (up to 1/2 inch) when using Mapp Gas. I haven't tried propane, but it might work. I highly recommend this flashlight if you are looking for an economical way to solder without having to install multiple gases, oxygen and fuel. REVISION 7/27/21: Just wanted to update my review. It's been about a year since I bought this flashlight and it still works like new. I cannot praise this torch enough! Worth a lot more than I paid for it…
