Not really bootable!

This is super fast and probably a great drive for the average user, but contrary to the advertised specs it's not a good boot device for installing an operating system. System. I had to use this device to install vmware esxi hosts and a windows server and the device boots up to a point, but once the install process does a plug and play/usb enumeration the device reboots locked. As for reading, there is another device sold by apricorn/aegis (memory card form factor) that offers an "override"…

Pros
  • Compatible with Aegis Configurator
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

The security feature is the most attractive thing I find. They have very good customer support. I am very happy. This is a real SSD, they are new to the market, I hope the prices will come down in the future. For a reliable and safe data backup, I would definitely consider buying another one.

Pros
  • Data Recovery PIN
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Works External SSDs

Will have to wait for the FBI and CIA to call to see if it's working as intended. The only thing I don't like is that the keyboard is upside down compared to a regular calculator, so you have to turn off your "habits".

Pros
  • Separate admin and user mode
Cons
  • No automatic

Outstanding hardware security

This device meets my quality requirements. I would give it five stars but the usability is a little tricky. The learning curve is a bit steep. I bought this unit for a customer who travels a lot and tends to lose things and needed my help setting it up.

Pros
  • Read and write speed up to 350Mbps
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Simplicity and security on external SSDs

This review is for a 512GB USB 3.0 locked SSD purchased February 2020, used with Windows 10. I am using Apricorn external drives about a decade old and essential for protecting sensitive business data on the go. I buy a new drive every few years as the speed and capacity keep getting better. I really like that they work via a pin and don't require software drivers and that they can be locked or disabled with a single button. SSD performance is really good for an encrypted drive. Included…

Very useful for my needs

For a while, this method was on my list as a way to store and protect information. It's not the cheapest, but worth the cost. I like that it can be easily encrypted and secured with a simple set of PW numbers. It's lightweight and comes in a package that makes it easy to travel from home to the office and even on vacation. If lost, everything will be erased when you try to hack the SSD. Using this drive is to help me transition from an old laptop to a new one and from local storage to using…

Pros
  • External SSDs
Cons
  • Hard to say
