The local hardware store sells a third party product that fits the Aprilaire 45 series humidifiers and I think it works better than the Aprilaire branded product. The third party one I bought is all paper and maybe works a little better because it has a more absorbent and evaporative surface with no metal? I do not know. Also, they may not last as long as these. But my goal was to get maximum hydration, and the Best Air did a better job than the Aprilaire 45, so I took a star off this product.
