Description of πŸ“Έ Ice Pod Aqua-Vu Underwater Camera Positioner

The Ice Pod allows you to rotate your Aqua-Vu underwater camera while ice fishing. Simply place the camera cable into the stopper, place in the slot on the Ice Pod tripod, and rotate the camera as necessary. A must for using Aqua-Vu on the ice.

Fish finders and echo sounders not impressed

Legs are not strong and the whole product is based on a loose piece of rubber that is easily lost in the hole, great cameras, terrible accessories.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • unreliable

Works best in fish finders and fish finders

I drilled a hole in a rubber stopper and tied it to a tripod to keep it from getting lost in the ice hole. I have fished with three people who have had marcum panners and they have worked flawlessly for two years.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Negative impression

Handy tripod best for echo sounders and fish finders

Handy tripod but they had to drill a center cable hole in the smaller top ball for smaller cables. Or at least give you a pair of different sizes. Also, let them float if you drop them in the water or attach something to the tripod so you don't lose them.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • There are new competitors

The camera doesn't move

Who would have thought that the underwater camera would move but it does, bought two of these, one for me and my son-in-law, which we put on opposite sides of our Eskimo, we can see the fish coming and going, the cameras are stable, they don't move, before we had to go out about every half hour to stabilize.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some little things

Works great in fishfinders and fish finders

I have a Marcum vs385c underwater camera. The black rubber plug fits the cable perfectly. Made my life so much easier panning my camera. I have to pan manually but it's still a great device. I have a drill with a 10" blade. Covers this and can go larger if needed. I highly recommend.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Has flaws

Good device, the best in automotive and automotive electronics

We ordered this because we borrowed a tripod from a friend and we dropped the attachment in a hole and couldn't get it back. We love this item but be aware the top is unattached and can fall off. Now that we know that, it won't be a problem. but it needs to be improved to prevent this from happening in the first place.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Nothing

Not suitable for Aqua Vu Micro models

I like the size. It fits easily in a 5 gallon bucket of other gear but doesn't work well with Aqua Vu Micro models. I have a Micro 5.0 Revolution Pro and the cable is too thin for the rubber stopper to hold. This made it difficult to rotate the camera underwater. Basically all I could do was mount the camera by lowering it over the tripod and twisting the cable to line up the camera and then wrapping the cable around the stopper and hoping it was in the desired position direction remains. Also,

Pros
  • As far as satisfied
Cons

I have a significantly updated version.

Mine came with a cord and adjuster threaded through the legs. I'm not sure what this is for and I couldn't find any mention of it on the Aqua-Vu website. I've made a few changes based on other reviews I've read about the bullet loss and camera cable cutout. I drilled a small hole in the back leg, threaded a braided lace through the hole and tried it on a ball. I also attached a small clip to the cord to act as a stop for the camera cord. Haven't tried it on ice yet but seems ok to hold my eyoyo

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
