Although they are sold as replacements for Aqua-Pure, when you shake them you quickly realize that the balls inside are much larger than in Aqua-Pure. This suggests less surface area, less medium and not the same efficiency.

My current AQUACREST cartridge is lasting longer than the original Aqua Pure cartridge and certainly does the same job. It's easy to tell if the system is working well because when it's used up, my showerheads and Water Pik quickly clog with mineral buildup.

I can only say I am pleased with the fit of the product having just installed it as my first replacement cartridge. As I use it to suppress limescale build up in the supply line of a water heater it may be years before I know for sure its performance. ) in the coming years to buy a lot of dust.

This is a Chinese counterfeit 3M product. Physically, it's a bit smaller, so it should have a lower capacity, even if the ads suggest more. I bought it to try and extract the calcium from pool water. In advertising it could be 10,000 gallons. Never used. It turned out (from the 3M website) that it only prevents limescale build-up on metal surfaces, but not on other (e.g. ceramic) surfaces. Hard water build up was reduced by having our plumber install a valve for these filters on our stove. I believe it also contributed to the performance of our new dishwasher, hard water destroyed our old dishwasher after years of use without these filters. In a house of six I change them about every 4 months which may be too early but I wish our water was softer. We also have a septic system, salt in water softeners destroys septic systems so these filters are a useful alternative.
