Cons but the water is delicious - I bought two!

I have mixed feelings about this jug. It's well presented and the water tastes phenomenal, even better than bottled water (yes I've tried Voss, Smart, Alkaline and other "fancy" waters). However, the flow rate on the filter goes from "wow that's pretty slow" to "I think I'll look at 5 relays of wire" within a few days of moderate use. After a month of use, it takes about 3 hours to filter water through the top tank with lid. This needs to be done twice to fill the pitcher. So the wait is…

Doesn't reliably remove fluoride or dissolved solids

Water filter very slow which would be good and worth the time if the jug really worked as advertised. I bought this primarily to filter fluoride out of the water before distillation. Since then I've read several reviews from people who actually tested the water for fluoride removal and found it was NOT removed. I ran a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) test. I tested the tap water and then ran it through an Aquagear filter. AFTER the filtration, there was actually a little more TDS in the water. If…

There were high hopes - but it doesn't work!

I am so disappointed in this water pitcher. I've done a lot of research on water jugs, wanted a little more filtering than your everyday Brita, but am not ready to buy a full home system or a large Berkey system. Based on my research, this was a good middle ground. Initially, the jug worked well - it drained slowly, but not terribly. Then the water filtration literally turned into hours. We "washed" the filter (several times) as instructed in the instructions, but that didn't help. I contacted…

Zero Check for kitchen and dining room

After doing a lot of research I was tipped to buy a Zero Water filter pitcher because it comes with a TDS meter that can check if the water has been filtered. However, after reading the AquaGear FAQ, I found out that the TDS meter cannot detect contaminants like Arsenic, Chromium-6, TTHM and many others because they are too small for the TDS meter. That's why I bought Aquagear. Checked the tap water with a TDS meter, it was 200ppm. Then I filtered it with Aquagear and indeed the number has NOT…

Stay away from that jug filter. Don't rely on reviews.

Simply put, there are too many competitors that meet similar NSF and/or SGS standards and don't have slow filtering issues. The quality of the filters differs significantly from the originals. The originals in the photos have mesh at the bottom and air holes at the top I believe. This is not the case with the new filters. New filters don't last as long as originals. Aquagear relies on paid reviews and old reviews to sell its product. DO NOT ENTER THIS! I sent a few questions to their support…
