I keep coming back to this when you say dwc I've tried many different airstones and cords and they keep coming back to this one big enough for big buckets and easy to clean for reuse

These bubblers work very well. I have a fairly cheap air pump and it produces a lot of oxygen bubbles for my pond. Soda makers bought at discounters seem clogged with algae etc. and need to be replaced frequently. They have worked great from day one since I installed them 6 months ago. I recommend.

They are perfect for 5 gallon DWC. I bought a pair of these 4 inch disc stones with 3 suction cup feet which come in a set of 2 here. One of them had a broken nipple when it arrived and I had to tape it back together to use it. So that's the last time I tried it and I'm very satisfied. They were half the price of 4" rims and blistered more, packed well and none broke. What's not to like? Speaking only hydroponics, 12 gallon DWC pumped at 950 gallons per hour (enough power). I have 6 of these that I have tried and they all pale in comparison to the smaller round air stones. They just blow big bubbles from above and at a very slow speed. I've tried half a dozen different Airstone designs and this one came in last. I use these for DWC hydroponics, they are high quality and work well. I have a 960 gph air pump so the bubbles are very strong even though they are divided into 6 parts. These are good air stones - I would recommend them. However, if you're on a budget: check out the Penn Plax 10" Air Rod for less than $5.
