I use these media bags in all three of my nano reef tanks. Media include activated carbon, zeolites and phosbanes. The bags are strong because I shake the zeolite bags daily. Zippers make it easy to fill pouches with media. . .much better than ties. The white color makes it easy to see when the pockets are getting dirty. The bags are reusable. What else can I say?

I have used these bags for everything. Good bacterial medium, charcoal, ammonia medium and pretty much anything I need a bag for. At the time of writing this review I had no broken zippers or holes. I have only used the media packs once, but the media is still in the packs and undamaged. I've used charcoal and ammonia remover bags time and time again.

I have used these to filter activated carbon and zeolite for my aquarium but the bags I received had larger openings than expected. Small particles of carbon and zeolite fell into the water and I ended up having to buy other bags from the pet store because they looked more like mesh. This would be fine for holding items like lava rock and other large materials, but something like sand would just fall through the holes.

Use these around the pump in my outdoor well. Before I started using these bags, almost every month my pump burned me due to algae growth and rough fur (he liked to lean against the fountain and dip his hair in the water). A pump burned out. Whenever you fill the fountain, I just spray water on the bag and you're done!

Filter material bags arrived in plastic postal packaging exactly as calculated. Pockets and zippers look and feel solid and well made with no damage. My first impression is that they dispense great charcoal, zeolite or whatever with large pebble sized fill bags for my outboard filter or HOB aquarium filter. Please note these are not ultra thin mesh bags so anything you can describe as sand size will not fit.

These bags are likely to handle smooth materials. I use filler bags to place gravel (the kind you can buy at a hardware store) that I fill into my BOG filter. After adding about 80% gravel and rinsing them with water before putting them in the filter, I noticed that some of the bags were slightly torn. I've also ordered smaller bags for the same purpose and these smaller ones are stiffer but don't tear.
