I'm really impressed with this camera. The onboard ISP takes most of the load off the Pi, and I can work at high frame rates while encoding and resizing the onboard ISP.

I was frugal and also loved collecting lentils. I've been using Linux for years but find the documentation and troubleshooting guide to be completely lacking. I'll spend more time on this later, but for now it looks like a waste of time and money.

Waste of time. Three different installation instructions contained multiple missing file or directory errors. Small warning: these are kernel drivers. Any Raspian version change can kill the driver. The fourth installation guide actually worked. Someone needs to do some serious cleaning.

I liked trying it, I wanted it to work. I spent most of the weekend tweaking the settings, but in the end I had to give up. They tried to exchange me for OV5647 Arducam B0055 which I am using now. We felt that we didn't complete the drivers. Many of the encoding settings available on the OV5647 are not available on this one.
