Great for carbon bikes

Benefits Great price Easy to use and install adapters Essential if you have a carbon bike and don't want to damage the carbon components. Torque range for my Scott road bike The dial shows pressures in Yankee and Sistem Internaccionale SI units. Feels like a solid tool in your hand. Disadvantages: none.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Volume

Good quality. I wish the numbers were easier to read

It would be great if there was some sort of sliding stop so it would be obvious when the steering wheel reaches the desired torque. However, the numbers are small and difficult to read. Forget trying to be very specific. For example, my last job required 68 inch pounds. I simply chose "70 ish" as precision is not possible due to small numbers and grid.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Required for transmission preload

I have had several cars with a Ford 8.8 differential. I replaced the ring and gear on all of them with a higher ratio. The Mercury Grand Marquis came from the factory with 2.73 gears. I replaced them with 4.10 gears. The car is now a torque monster. During the gear installation I used a torque wrench to turn the gear and it showed a force of about 20 pounds per inch. I had to buy a 1/4" to 1/2" socket adapter to fit the torque wrench to my 1/2" transmission socket. Works great. I highlyโ€ฆ

The right tool for the job.

Bar Scale Torque Wrench is actually more accurate than click types ESPECIALLY when reporting low inch-pound values. For the past 50 years, I've mostly relied on these guys when it made sense. This key was used immediately and worked as intended. This inch-pound wrench is well built, with SAE and metric scales clearly visible. The pointer was null when captured and reset to zero after each use. With proper use and care, this tool will last a long time. No tool can withstand abuse andโ€ฆ

Not properly zeroed BUT it matches the bad zero in the photo.

Device arrived without displaying zero. It shows 3 lb-in with no load. was discovered too late to return the item. NOTE that the photos on Revain COULD be treated as if they had a non-zero pointer. The seller can claim that the item was correctly represented in the Revain listing! The indicator line was drawn carelessly removes the white paint, cuts a new groove with a file aligned to the actual zero point, and paints over the new groove.
