Description of ๐ŸŽง NanoSound ONE Case by Argon - High-Fidelity Raspberry Pi Audio Player with HiFi DAC (Digital to Analog Converter), Argon ONE Case for Raspberry Pi 4 (Rpi4 Not Included)

The Nanosound One is an Argon ONE Raspberry Pi 4 Case that has been redesigned to include a built-in Raspberry Pi DAC Hat while fully supporting Volumio and ROON. The Texas Instruments PCM5122 chipset helps the Raspberry Pi DAC Case provide audio at 192kHz Sampling Rate and 24bit Resolution with 112-db SNR for High Fidelity music. The I2S bus in this Raspberry DAC offers low jitter. This allows the Argon Raspberry Pi 4 Case to provide a smooth, and comfortable listening experience. Includes an Infrared Receiver and Remote Control to fully control your Raspberry Pi Music Player; making it very easy to get started playing music on your Argon Case. The Hi-Fi Audio Player also acts as a heatsink for the Raspberry Pi 4 Board; Giving additional cooling to the board while it's playing music all day long.

High quality HiFi DAC with Volumio

I use this Volumio and stream Tidal Hi-Fi all day long on my old Sansui. Excellent quality.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Almost never

Visually and acoustically a beauty!

Worth the price. The IR remote is bad, but the case and DAC are AWESOME. I don't care about the remote control, so I'm 110% satisfied.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Stupid

Really good DAC for Pi!

I use Nanosound from Kickstarter and its quality is excellent. You won't believe a DAC in this price range is of such good quality. I've also upgraded to a Pi4 if it boots with an Argon case. This case definitely helps in cooling the hot chips from the Pi4. Now the two best components are combined into one and I have no reason not to buy them. Keep it up!

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

Ideal streamer for JDS Labs Atom Amp+

I got it up and running in about 15 minutes using Moode Audio. I use it to play audio files on my NAS and stream from Spotify Connect. It pairs with JDS Labs Atom Amp+ for my Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones. JDS Labs makes a great set of short RCA cables that make connecting these two cables a dream. I'm a big fan of Argon40 cases in general and the DAC included in this passively cooled version is perfect for my needs.

Took my Pi4 to a whole new level

I've gone through many music streamers including: - various Bluetooth devices (cheap dongle, Aiyima Tube A3 pro with updates and iFi Zen Blue which I sent back ) - multiple Wi Streamers -Fi of different quality (Sonos Connect Gen2, Klipsch Gate) - streaming from my phone (cheap LG) I've recently become interested in the concept of streaming Raspberry Pi 4 using Volumio (or others). My initial reaction to this combination was very good and I wanted to take the sound quality (and body/body) toโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Not the best

Only supports Volumio OS

Thought it was an Argon 40 product but it is. The DAC is a product developed and maintained by Nanomesher, a subsidiary of Volumio. The support site states that this DAC is compatible with other operating systems, but there is no information on how to do this. I asked questions in nanomesher forum but after 4 days there is no answer. In order for the DAC to work with Raspberry OS, I just needed to know which driver to put in /boot/config.txt. But Nanomesher never provided this simple driverโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Quality

I was just looking for a passively cooled Pi4 case (that will also fit) when the NanoSound One came up as a suggestion. All of my music is on an iTunes-built NAS, and I half-heartedly looked for a way to connect that storage to my stereo. When this came up as a suggestion I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The volumio software is great for my needs and the ability to control the device via web interface or phone app from anywhere in the house is great. Having access to variousโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Concise instructions
