Not what I expected.

This item was purchased eight months ago. About a month ago I was having trouble connecting to WiFi only. It will either completely disconnect and reconnect, or it will be very slow. It shows that the warranty is provided by ARRIS, so I speak to the ARRIS company and guess what they told me? My warranty expired in 2017. This product was launched and used since 2015. In a short study, the expected lifespan of a router/modem is 2-5 years. I was sold an old product that was doomed and should notโ€ฆ

Good but not perfect

Good but not perfect. Great for the price and modem + router if you need a little simplicity. He has the most important quality. Modem and WLAN work stably and quickly. details here. The web interface is also functional and fast. Has all the basic features but no frills like updates, VPN, custom DNS etc. It would be nice if the lights weren't so bright.

  • Great

Refurbished or refurbished products are misleading.

Bought this product marked "Updated" and found the modem to be defective, refuses to contact the cable provider. The cable TV provider hooked up another old used modem from the same manufacturer and had no problems. Now I'm prevented from sending this back. Products marked as refurbished or updated may not be accurate. Since the fault was not the modem's range or signal, but a communication error upon delivery, it would have been incredibly difficult for the seller to test the product andโ€ฆ

  • Handsfree

  • Clearly bad product

Installation instructions are inaccurate

Router/modem works well with Xfinity services so far, but there are a few issues with the instructions. The instructions are for a new product, so they tell you that the Wi-Fi name and password must match the SSID and password on the bottom of the router. Because this is an updated product and it has been used before, the Wi-Fi channel name and password have already been changed. It wasn't immediately apparent that (1) Wi-Fi was broadcasting and (2) the router had Internet access; I spent someโ€ฆ

Pros
  • So far so good

  • Upgradeable

Benefit in the Computers & Accessories category

It's quite small compared to other more modern routers, but it gets the job done. It gets quite warm and seems to stay there regardless of your activity. It is very easy to customize and change settings. None of this is like filming in the dark, and I've seen some pretty screwed up routers that make you shell out an extra $100 for a tech team to tell you what you already know. In short, it has all the bells and whistles, but to get the best result you have to do it yourself. And it allows youโ€ฆ
