Amazingly durable

I bought this for a DIY project. My 16 year old wanted a wall of shoji screens in his room, we can't afford them. So, after some searching on Pinterest, we found a doable craft. I was concerned about paper thickness and durability. However, it was great. We didn't break a single piece. It was easy to work with. We attached the cork tree using the pidge mod

Be careful when using this paper in an inkjet printer!

I read that some people use this in their inkjet printers so I thought ok I'll give it a try. I started reading how to do it. I taped mine to a piece of plain paper for printing. It got stuck the first time, but I was able to pull it out. Tried again with more tape. The same thing happened. So I tried this without the backing paper and my printer got completely stuck. At this point I read how to unlock your printer (especially my model) and it's still stuck. I see paper everywhere now. I think…

Not for calligraphy, fountain pens or traditional watercolors

I thought this paper would be fun to write letters on or use for watercolor practice. This thing bleeds like a horror movie. It's light and thin and would probably work well for a collage or other project. It has 2 sides. One is smooth, the other slightly rough. I can't get either to work for me. I guess this is good for watercolor marbling or that wrinkled paper watercolor technique. It's really not my style, so it was terribly useless to me. I use it for color swatches, but it's true. If…

Great for decoupage

I bought this paper specifically for decoupage so I can print the images I want to use. That works great! I attach it to a piece of regular carbon paper (the textured side of the rice paper on the carbon paper) with some glue around the edges, cut the rice paper to size, and then place it in the inkjet tray. I choose lightweight/recycled paper with the highest resolution. It prints on the smooth side of rice paper and images come out crisp, clean and vibrant. The pieces I cut can be used to…

I will buy more when they run out.

This rice paper works great on my Bother laser printer. Although it says rice paper, they are not edible. I tried to eat a small piece and it was like chewing regular lined paper in college. Edible rice paper melts in your mouth. I didn't buy them to eat so no problem. They are quite thick, like ordinary paper. I have not used them with an inkjet printer. When using a laser printer, the texts are very clear. I use rice paper because it becomes transparent when resin or clear epoxy is applied to

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Shading

Agree with the review this paper is great for marbling paper and holds up surprisingly well wet. I like the porous nature of the paper, which takes paint and ink very well even without an alum preparation. What can be good or bad is that it takes paint and ink so well that using both sides for separate images would be impossible as the pigments are fully absorbed into the paper. This can come in handy for paper marbling purposes when I really want the marbling to appear on both sides of the…
