I bought two of these but ended up using only one as I found another matte pattern for consistency on the top floor windows. I was going to return it but liked the pattern so much I decided to use it for the basement window instead. Even underground, when the light from the window shines well, it illuminates our guest room wonderfully. It definitely darkens the room as a whole, but I like the pattern. I like this material, I use it in my decoration. I had a lamp with a simple glass shade and glass shelves. I wanted something to make it prettier and wanted to buy stained glass paint and paint it myself then I found this and wow it was easier. I didn't apply it directly to glass though. According to the instructions, it does not stick to frosted glass. I'm so glad I finally made this purchase. Except for the frame, my front door is made entirely of glass. Very inconvenient for privacy and direct sunlight, which can also fade paintings and artwork. The blinds and curtains didn't work because my dogs and cats accidentally ripped them to pieces in their excitement to look outside (wooden blinds, vertical blinds, curtains, plastic blinds and even paper blinds). I purchased four sheets of this design (two from Home Depot, two from Revain) to cover a 56" wide x 48.5" tall window above our garden tub in our master bathroom and hung them "landscape". The painting should be hung at every opportunity. It offers a lot of privacy (not ideal - wouldn't bathe at night with the lights on without the blinds closed for example) and lets in lots of light.
