The shoes were too stiff for wrestling. Lately.

The shoes were too stiff for wrestling. Recently the shoes literally broke in half. Find something more flexible for wide feet.

Pros
  • Fits good
Cons
  • I would like it wider. I think I need something like 4E. Size 9 fits well in length but not in width.

Great final review

My son needs wide shoes which are hard to find and not always wide enough. That was great. But the price could be better. I have wide feet and these shoes are not wide, at all. How do I reutrn them for a credit?!

Pros
  • The perfect running shoe.
Cons
  • I have a wide foot and this shoe is not wide at all. How can I return them for a loan?

Great ....!! in my rating

This is the second couple in our family. I have one (MS wrestling coach) as does my son (8th grade wrestler). Good shoes, great for wide feet, high quality. The first pair lasted a long time and I expect my son's pair will last as well. Definitely recommend

Pros
  • comfortable shoes!
Cons
  • Uncomfortable ankle support.

Great mat for Krav Maga!

Great mat for a variety of Krav Maga activities. Worried it might stick to the mat too much, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. The bottom feels very strong and durable, as does the top construction. Perfect fit 8.5 E [wide]! I love shoes!

Pros
  • The width is amazing but the length is half a size larger than usual. Compared to my Asics running shoes
Cons
  • May slip on certain surfaces

last try - my new review

My 10 year old son has very wide feet. One day we went to every sporting goods store for hours and tried on wrestling shoes, but to no avail. Eventually I went to the line and it was the only wide shoe I could find that was small enough to be worth trying. To my surprise, as long as he wasn't wearing socks, he fit. Without those shoes I would have had to pull him out of the fight. It was expensive, but at least he could fight. I can't believe nobody makes wrestling shoes for kids with wide feet

Pros
  • Wrestling shoes generally run small. but these fit perfectly. It's difficult to stand on the feet of a first grader, but comfortable!
Cons
  • Narrow toe area

too small: my rating

I wear wide sneakers and bought them without realizing that wide is actually narrow. The bar of my foot couldn't even get into the shoes. Big disappointment from this seller.

Pros
  • Resistant to abrasion and abrasion
Cons
  • May be too hard for some people

Very suitable in my opinion

I wear shoes in sizes 11-11.5 (depending on brand and size). They were originally a size 12 and they were too big. I swapped for 11.5, they fit well (actually a bit bigger but I like it better). And they are wide, but not too wide. So you can probably get whatever size you normally wear (street shoes, not wrestling shoes). A maximum of 1/2 size bigger, but that doesn't have to be the case either.

Pros
  • Provides excellent arch support for added comfort
Cons
  • Hard to find in stores

My son has flintstone feet and we cannot find wide wrestling shoes in our stores. When my son tried them on he said they were a little big but his foot was very comfortable. The rubber outsole that sticks out of the side of the shoe is also a plus for better traction on the mat. Definitely going to be a regular customer, maybe for football too.

Pros
  • My child wears size 17 shoes and they fit perfectly. He loves her!
Cons
  • not breathable enough

Nice wide shoe in my review

A good fit and using wider shoes makes a big difference. I like that the ankle is a little lower but still offers good support.

Pros
  • I have 5 pairs of these boots.
Cons
  • never mind a bit tight for "wide" shoes

Good shoes for wide feet

excellent light shoes; excellent grip on carpets. comfortable shoes. The only negative is putting them on and taking them off; You really need to loosen the laces a bit. These shoes hit or go past the ankles; needs work to get in and out. You breathe well when you exercise.

Pros
  • According to my son, these shoes fit him perfectly and help him a lot in wrestling matches. No complaints.
Cons
  • high price

Just not wide enough.

This was the ONLY pair of WIDE wrestling shoes I could find in the WORLD - I've scoured the internet and checked all the shops in town - the shoes themselves are good but the width is still not wide enough - my son uses these though after a week of wearing them i can say he will tear them apart before the end of the season. The length of the shoe is just right and visually it's a good shoe - the width is the biggest issue and it was very expensive.

Pros
  • My 12 year olds love them
Cons
  • Sole not strong enough

great - my new review

whether they fight or walk, they feel great. I lost my first pair and bought these back. They fit perfectly...great if you have wide feet

Pros
  • Helps improve performance on the mat
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with flat feet

Good shoes - my new review

I chose Asics because I love their running shoes. They looked well made out of the box and fit like I would expect from a wrestling shoe. Based on my previous use, I am sure that I will be satisfied and recommend them.

Pros
  • Compatible with different colors of wrestling gear
Cons
  • overpriced compared to similar models

Great wrestling boot

Great wrestling shoes! The middle is still a little tight, but I bought thin athletic socks and they made the fit much better. Overall great shoes, very satisfied!

Pros
  • I buy dance shoes as part of my work in the entertainment industry. We use ASICS, among others.
Cons
  • Limited color choices

Size 14 and wide - great find

My son competed in school wrestling this year and size 14 and width are not available at any local store. I was concerned about some of the reviews I read that said they were smaller than expected, but my son put them on and immediately said they were great. Just hope they aren't like other shoes we find in his size, order as soon as they run out. Very satisfied.

Pros
  • Suitable for indoor and outdoor wrestling
Cons
  • Missing ankle and foot support

Unfavorable. in my rating

Pros: I liked the wide leg box. But cons: shoes felt uncomfortable underfoot. The logo strips are made of plastic and too thick. The general construction seemed cheap, even for the price.

Pros
  • Fits perfectly and comfortably.
Cons
  • Insufficient support for high-intensity movements

Just received my pair. in my rating

I hope this post helps anyone who is thinking about buying the ASICS Split Second Wide wrestling shoes. I am writing this post the day I receive my order. After having bad luck at various sporting goods stores, the wrestling shoes I tried on were often too narrow/small, so I ordered the ASICS Split Second Wide men's wrestling shoes because they are the only shoes that fit wide feet. I was a little hesitant about these shoes fitting me as I had no luck with previous wrestling shoes. I usually…

Pros
  • Fits well. Normal 13 is too tight. Good that there is a little more space. Hope they keep going.
Cons
  • Insufficient ventilation

great shoes in my review

I'm really sorry I couldn't find these shoes on Amazon last year. They are much better quality than my son's previous shoes. perfect fit thanks to his huge Fred Flintstone feet. will keep buying. fast delivery. well packed. and it arrived exactly as pictured.

Pros
  • Excellent delivery and fit.
Cons
  • Toe not wide enough

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not wide enough for me

These shoes are meant to be wide, but they are not wide enough. The width of the foot is not proportional to the width of the arch (the arch should be wider).

Pros
  • Reliable brand with many years of experience in the production of wrestling shoes
Cons
  • Not recommended for beginners

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Need a very wide size

My son is a size 13 2E. I searched many websites to find his wrestling shoe size. The only one around was ebay which was a size 14 2E. I had to go with 14 2E or nothing. It would be nice if there were more wrestling shoes in extra large sizes, including the 13 2E.

Pros
  • Split outsole for flexibility and maneuverability
Cons
  • Not suitable for heavyweight wrestlers
