This strut extender worked exactly as advertised and was perfect for removing the struts on the VW Passat. The tool appears to be of the highest quality and there has been no wear on the reamer tip after use.

This tool replaces my homemade front strut remover on my 2010 VW Jetta (driver's side spring was broken). The roads here in northern Missouri are bad. I was checking the shelves because I fell through one of our streets! My homemade device worked perfectly. I will update my review once I use this tool.

I cannot compare the performance of this particular spreader to others as it is the only spindle spreader I have ever used but I can say it works well and opens the cup just enough for my south car's knuckles to fall out (no corrosion) with little effort. It is also competitively priced and I think it might be the cheapest of them all.

I can't stress enough how important this little tool is. Me and a buddy watched video after video of how to remove the luggage racks from my 2010 VW Passat. We saw someone knocking, hitting and even a guy using his jack to remove the luggage racks from the car. It's hard to say how long and difficult this work would have been without this tool.
