Does not work with wheel locks

High quality item as always from Astro Tools but it didn't catch on the wheel lock which is what I needed. This only damaged the surface of the lock and hollowed out the inside of the nest.

Well made but useless to the average person

Bought this because I enjoy working and fixing my cars my own unless it requires real knowledge or a lift or both and I have no choice but to take it to a real mechanic. I have a 2002 Celica that I bought when the previous owner didn't take care of her wheels. Long story short, I bought new wheels for the car only to find out they had locks (they have nut caps so I had no idea). The key to the lock was nowhere to be found. I bought these hoping they would help me. While these sockets are worth…

Pros
  • Includes 3/4", 13/16", 7/8" and 15/16" wheel take off sizes
Cons
  • So far so good

I ordered them and they did their job. I've found that it's best to smash the nest in with a hammer and then use a pry bar. Tried with a percussion gun, maybe some nuts will work, but not mine. The nut was damaged but I was able to use it to loosen all four lug nuts and I have three other sizes intact - hope they will fit the…

Worked but not as intended

When trying to loosen the wheel locks on my 2003 Lexus RX300 I broke three of them which rendered my wheel lock key unusable. I purchased this product after reading about the proper technique for removing a torn wheel lock. I was able to remove the broken wheel locks, but destroyed the tool in the process. At first I used the tool as intended, but the wheel locks on my car are very stiff, so the teeth on the tool ripped off completely. Dejectedly, I scored a section one size smaller than the…
