Boss Armor 1600 Watt 4 Channel Amp

I've had the Boss Armor 1600 4 Channel Amp for a few weeks now and my only complaint is that it heats up pretty quickly and goes into protection mode.!. I turned the bass controls all the way out and up the input levels by maybe a quarter and be aware I only use the amp on my 4 factory speakers in a Dodge Magnum.!. I live in Texas so it's hot here and I'm thinking about running a fan on it to keep it a little cooler.!. Overall for the price it's good and the clarity is pretty good too.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

I've given it 3 stars so far I originally wanted to return it because of two things. At first I was just looking for an ordinary car amplifier. Since I've read all this, it was never mentioned that it was a candy bar. And that's what they gave me. Monoblock Car Amplifier Second, the description says it's black. And what happened was like a chrome amp. I didn't want to go ahead and find that I was lied to about the product description. So I set up a return process. I plan to contact Amazon and…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

The power rating is way too high

The power rating of 1600W is way too high. They won't even come close until the amp's protection circuitry shuts down the amp. We suggest dividing the declared power by a factor of 4 or 5, the actual power will be closer to the total of 300 or 400 watts. I'm using a pair of 300W (150W RMS) Pyle speakers with an impedance of 4 ohms and dimensions of 4" x 10". I had to connect the outputs to get anywhere near the speakers' distortion (maximum output) level, and I never experienced distortion…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
