READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!

Works as described, make sure to purchase a USB flash cable or pre-order firmware for your vehicle type. I made the mistake of not researching the issue and had to pay a dealership $20 to flash it. Although it was cheaper than buying a $40 cable.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Issues

Works great, easy to program

Installed on a Toyota SUV. I installed this with a Prestige Auto Alarm APS 997E. I forgot to set remote start; After I installed Tactics, everything worked like clockwork. I had to cut 2 wires on the key cylinder and splice 3 took about 30 minutes. You can also program this module yourself. Revain sells a special USB cable.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Does what it says on the tin. I've been installing remote boot for over 5 years and have always found FLCAN to offer the best support, documentation and success. If they are available for the car, and they almost always are, I will always use FLCAN instead of other bypass modules.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • So like that

FLCAN Reliable, versatile, easy to use

In my opinion, FLCAN is the best and most reliable interface module on the market. Over the years I've tried many DEI offerings like the dball series and had issues, bugs and constant reboots. In over 6 years I have NEVER had a problem with FLCAN or any idatalink module it is based on. I highly recommend them for any car alarm/remote start.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Doubt

but easily flashable with any vehicle specific flash rom you need.

This and iDataLink ADS-ALCA are the same product. This unit comes standard with Chrysler software installed, but can be easily flashed with any required vehicle specific Flash ROM (You will need to purchase a FLPROG module: http://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-FLPROG-Flashlogic-Interface- To do this, load /dp/B0027UYASY). You need to register an account on FLCAN website and from there you can download and flash this module using the programmer listed above. This makes a big difference in remote boot…

  • Excellent Overall Performance

Good device but could be better.

I purchased this and a USB programming updater to use in my 2011 Ford F-150 and encountered a problem during the key programming phase and my car would not start remotely with programmed key. Well apparently this module can only program 1 button 1 time. After many unsuccessful attempts to reprogram my key, I finally gave up and called tech support. Turns out I made a mistake connecting the CAN TX/RX wires to the ignition and therefore my key was not programmed into the unit properly. They had…

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
