Auto Meter 3262 Universal Sender Review

Accommodates various tank depths and is fairly easy to install. I replaced a bad block in my 1953 F100 truck. That works great.

My son decided to enlarge my truck with larger gas tanks so we could drive longer between fuel stops. This was part of his project to make big tanks work. It worked. I am very happy with this purchase.

As it is generic you will need to disassemble the anchor and cut the float arm to length but it fits the milspec unit exactly. Works great, great price.

I'm very satisfied. I bought a new Auto Meter for this purpose. That works great. A word of caution. When I first installed it, the float wasn't touching, it was just inches from the baffle in my tank. This would prevent the float from moving a full arc. It was my fault. I just had to twist it a little. So make sure the float is clear of baffles, fuel pumps, or intake manifolds.

I bought this for a transmitter for use in a 76ft Dodge pickup. The mounting plate didn't match the Dodge gas tank outlet/dispatcher, but I was able to mount this transmitter and float to the stock unit with little effort by drilling and tapping new mounting holes. The fuel gauge is working again and at a much lower cost than the new standard feeder/fuel pickup.

I am not convinced by this product at the moment. After installing according to the manufacturer's instructions, I found that the insulated screw connection on the top of the mounting plate tended to leak. I'm not sure how to solve this problem. I was thinking of using some kind of gasket or other sealant. I'm not sure I would buy this again. When you buy, allow time for trial and error.

Bought these for fuel tanks on my Peterbilt. They need a bit of adjustment, but they work well and are a lot cheaper than those sold at Peterbilt dealerships. 2 years and invoice and no problems. Please note: you do NOT need to drop the tanks to install them. It's a tight fit and you might break your ankles, but it works. They are adjustable and you only need to tighten the adjusting nut after expanding it once you are partially in the hole. Turn on your brain, it's not hard.
