Works great, just take your time installing it.

Worked great and looks/works like factory. A lot of people talk about tabs breaking during installation. This is a very tight fit. I coated the studs with some grease and heated them with a heat gun until they were easy to play but not soft or warped. Snaps into place with no broken petals. Just take your time and warm up the tabs a bit.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • Doubtful

Be careful when installing

When I pushed on the grip cover, the two tabs holding it up immediately snapped off. Was it a cheap part meant to snap into place, or was it an error on my part during installation? I would recommend this part but I would advise you to pay close attention and be careful when installing the cover. (I plan to use 3M double sided tape to hold it in place).

Pros
  • Confident

  • Non-automatic

Fragile shit, handle meets frame

This is my third of these (different brands), unfortunately they are all junk. The upper tongues were left with an ebb so they wouldn't catch on the tailgate. The lugs have faded white stress lines that read "about to break" once removed, so the sticky pads are the only thing holding the bezel in place. The grip hits the bezel when pressed, which hasn't happened on any of the others I've had before. They should be made of glass-reinforced nylon, not flimsy, brittle ABS plastic, and fit properly

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not sure

Simple solution for a large part.

If you need a trunk handle, buy this product first. The part is as good as, if not better than, any other I've bought from local parts stores. Very easy installation. A few helpful tips. The frame is held in place by tabs at the top and bottom. Lubricate all moving parts before installation. I used lithium grease.1. Move the frame. Pull up and pull up.2. Unscrew the SAE 3 1/2" screws that attach the handle to the rear door. 3. Place the new handle on the tailgate and screw in the bottom screw…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Good price and easy fix, check the gate hinges and cables.

Much better than OEM, well made and works great. The stop bar clamps are slightly different than the GM clamps, but I would say they are better quality. The bezel fits well and matches the original plastic very well. It's also good that it's included in this kit as the retaining tabs will break even with care. Aside from double-sided tape, you'll need a new one. One more note: I used this kit on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1/2. Also check the tailgate cables! GM recalled these trucks years ago…

One More Time - Body & Trim

This part is manufactured by several suppliers. This is my third in as many years, which is frustrating. From experience I have found that there is a design flaw that appears to result in a weak point at the left arm attachment point. Part failure can be avoided by pulling the latch to the right instead of all the way to the left [I hope that makes sense]. This is how I unlock the rear door latch on the one I have now. Another problem is that masking tape is not guaranteed to work "as…

Fits 2004 Silverado

Ordered Sunday, Arrived Thursday. Removal Procedure: Apply a small amount of rust remover to the old bolts if they are tight. Remove the old frame (I already had a broken one). Twist the plastic rod clamps down. Pull the rods out of the latch. They're long enough that you don't have to worry about them falling out the back door. Use a 13mm socket to remove the three screws holding the latch. Installation: Click on the latch. new clips (included) on. I used needle nose pliers to secure the clip.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Faulty
