Disappointing alternative to tire chains

Automotive enthusiasts looking for a reliable alternative to tire chains, beware. Using this product, our team found that the installation process was frustrating and time-consuming. While the AutoSock offered decent traction on icy roads, it failed to perform on slushy or wet pavement. While the concept is intriguing, the execution falls short. Save yourself the hassle and stick with traditional tire chains.

Pros
  • Offers decent traction on icy roads
Cons
  • Frustrating installation process and inadequate performance on slushy or wet pavement.

Worked great; but for accessories and parts

Worked great; but when they are wet and cold they are difficult to put on. We couldn't have done it without them. We tried to drive up the mountain to the cabin without them; but not without socks. You changed our holiday!

Pros
  • Lightweight and reusable
Cons
  • Something else

So far, so good. I had to put Autosock on.

So far so good. We had to install a car sock on US 50 en route to Tahoe. While I was extremely careful with speed and braking, the automatic nosepiece gave me plenty of support and peace of mind. It's snowing through Monday so I'll update my review after our trip from Tahoe. So far, so good. (knocking on wood while typing)!

Pros
  • Easy to use and store
Cons
  • Problems
