I love everything about this stand. At first I was nervous that it wouldn't hold up to my 39 pound Klipsch center channel speaker. I was amazed at how this stand made it possible to place my speaker almost as if it was custom made. The top glass is tempered, but the other two semi-thick shelves are not tempered. For $70 it's ok so I'd recommend it. But other than that I've used it with a 55 inch TV and if I had to do it again I'd spend double the money (same brand has more TV stands) and get something wider and taller. Or wall mount your TV and just use it to hold your game console and other stuff. The top glass itself isn't as thick as the more expensive stands, but is suitable for today's lightweight TVs. I didn't like the fact that while the TV barely, I mean barely (no extra inches) fits wide, it's so small in height. It sits very low, like it was made for a midget or something. I ordered this stand for our LG 55" LED flat screen TV, model 55LB6100. The name of this stand on Revain said it would fit TVs up to 55 inches, so I ordered it because it was $88 at the time and was good value. After receiving the package, I looked again at the box and parts and saw that the top shelf was only 45 inches wide. Our LG TV is 55 inches diagonally and 48 inches wide on the sides. The modularity of this design allowed me to easily modify it and add an extra shelf. I might want to make a special purchase of just an extra shelf, four shorter cylinders and 8 plastic end caps, but at this price I didn't mind buying a second TV stand. When I'm ready to replace the old bedroom stand, the cylinders and shelves I have left over will make it easy to build an even taller cabinet for that space after I buy another TV stand.
