Backrack 92517 Tonneau Cover Adapter Review

Meets my needs. No instructions and I had to use some of the hardware I already had. The YouTube video was less informative. They don't look like the original J-Bolt slides. They have a nut and washer that they keep in the pannier bag. First you need to remove the sheet. However, once installed they look good and do the job they were designed for.

No screws and stickers. You cannot contact the seller to try to get them. The only thing you can do is return the adapters that don't help you install the rack or make your own screws as the screws that come with the rack mounts are too short for this adapter. I don't have time to play the game so I had to make the studs that are in the photo. I'm determined, but it still cost me two hours of my life and a lot of frustration. If you are a seller, you must team up and send me a refund!

They are of good quality and do what they were designed to do which is to raise the parcel shelf just enough to fit a low profile tarpaulin underneath. One issue I had was that when lifted, the backrack protruded higher than the actual pickup truck roof, which caused a loud whistle when driving. I was able to lower the whistle a little bit by gorilla-taping a piece of black foam insulation tubing along this part, which doesn't really stand out, but I think it's something to watch out for and…
